Centre Hospitalier Emile MayrischDoctor continued to work despite infection in the family

RTL Today
A doctor from the hospital in Esch-sur-Alzette continued to work, although close family members had tested positive for coronavirus.

This information was reported by our colleagues at Tageblatt on Saturday morning, and was confirmed by spokesmen for the Centre Hospitalier Emile Mayrisch (CHEM).

A doctor worked twelve hours on 15 November while he was waiting for the results of his Covid-19 test, even though members of his own household had tested positive for coronavirus the day before. CHEM's spokeswoman stressed that the doctor did not show symptoms at the time. When he learned that he had also tested also positive, he immediately left his post.

According to CHEM, all staff and patients on the ward who had contact with this doctor were tested for Covid-19. No employee was infected, as the doctor concerned wore an FFP2 mask and complied with the applicable hygiene rules.

Management is said to have taken the necessary measures to prevent this from happening again.
