Like petrol last week, the price of diesel is continuing to fall in Luxembourg in April. After a second consecutive decline at the pumps last Thursday, the price of diesel will fall for the third time in a row overnight on Monday 15 April.

As of Tuesday, the diesel litre price will go down by a further 3 cents to reach €1.346. The last time diesel was this cheap in Luxembourg was on 9 December 2021, at that time costing €1.338. That was 40 months ago, before the invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops.

This latest reduction makes diesel the cheapest fuel on the market in Luxembourg. Just three months ago, in mid-January 2025, diesel still cost €1.555 a litre. That’s almost 21 cents more than on Tuesday. For a full 50 litres, that still represents a difference of €10.45.

Over the last few days, prices for 95-octane and 98-octane petrol had already plummeted in Luxembourg. Since Saturday, a litre of 95-octane petrol has cost €1.437. A litre of 98-octane petrol is now €1.534.

Heating oil is following the same trend, falling by 3 cents to €0.794 a litre.
