
The ongoing conflict involving Iran is now also having a clear impact on oil prices at the pump in Luxembourg.
98 petrol will become 3.1 cents more expensive and will therefore cost €1.648 per litre from Thursday midnight onwards.
A massive price increase will affect all those who fill up with diesel. Here the price rises by 21.1 cents, from €1.485 to €1.696 per litre.
A similar increase applies to heating oil, which becomes 22.3 cents more expensive and will therefore cost €1.145 per litre, instead of the previous €0.922 per litre.
Fuel prices at the pumps surged sharply at the start of the war in Ukraine. On 9 March 2022, just weeks after the conflict began on 24 February, it was announced that 95 petrol would rise by 23.2 cents per litre at midnight. The increase for 98 petrol was 16.7 cents. Diesel saw the steepest hike, with prices climbing by 38.4 cents per litre. Heating oil also rose, by 32.4 cents for 50 ppm and 40 cents for 10 ppm. The announcement triggered long queues at petrol stations across the country that evening.
