Covid restrictionsCurfew infringements remain most frequent reason for police fines

RTL Today
The police issued its latest weekly review of infringements, revealing that 300 controls ended in 200 fines being handed out.

Officers further used the routine checks to monitor whether people respect the remaining measures, such as masks, safety distances, and gatherings.

In 70% of cases, people were caught breaking the curfew between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.. Most of the remaining police interventions came down to people not respecting the maximum number of people allowed to meet. Such was the case on 22 March in Esch-sur-Alzette for instance, where six people received a fine. On Friday, officers also caught three people hanging out in a pub in Kockelscheuer, for which they were fined.

Over the weekend, the police was alerted to two parties held at the "Dräi Eechelen" park near Mudam Museum in Kirchberg. It was subsequently decided to once again close the site to the public, at least in the evening and overnight for the moment.
