Security staff observed the couple as one of them took the phone from a shelf and handed it to the other, who concealed it beneath a jacket.
When the couple attempted to exit the shop, the alarm was raised. Both resisted but security were able to hold the would-be shoplifters in place until the police arrived.
The woman was discovered with the stolen phone on her person, and was consequently brought before a judge on Monday. Her accomplice was cautioned.
