The ‘longest cycling bridge of Europe’, which will connect Esch-sur-Alzette with Belval, is now expected to cost €47.5 million. Since this is far above the budget initially approved for the project, the Ministry for Mobility and Public Works was forced to file a new draft law for the financing of the infrastructure.
According to reporter.lu, the Ministry justifies the budget increase by citing unforeseen circumstances, including the geological conditions of the area.
