COPAS agrees with the Chamber of Employees about the prices in Luxembourg's retirement homes. The Chamber of Employees had expressed concerns that the average costs of a room in a retirement home exceeds minimum monthly pension payments.
COPAS argued that the prices need to become more transparent and that Luxembourg should adopt an adequate legislative framework. At the same time, they conceded that personnel costs alone amounted to two-thirds of operating expenses of retirement homes - managers are consequently limited when it comes to a potential decrease of prices.
