The so-called 'Liberty Road' commemorated the victory road of allied troops in WWII.

The Luxembourg Committee of the Liberty Road commemorated General Patton's 3. US Army commando on Saturday.

This past week saw several ceremonies of remembrance as part of the 75. anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge. More than 5.000 US soldiers are buried at the military cemetery in Luxembourg.

Luxembourg residents often come across General Patton's name in various forms - at the military cemetery, in Ettelbruck, or due to the various streets named after the US soldier. According to the Liberty Road Committee, it is a way of thanking Americans for the liberation, which is still of great importance today.

The association will continue to commemorate the liberation by US soldiers and has already planned events of remembrance for General Patton's 75. anniversary since his death.
