The collision took place around 9.15am on the N56, when the ambulance collided with a car at the intersection of Boulevard Pierre Dupong in Hollerich, near the Forum Geesseknäppchen.
The ambulance was driving with emergency lights on, en route to transfer a patient to the hospital, a Rescue and Fire Corps (CGDIS) spokesperson confirmed to our colleagues at RTL Infos.
The exact circumstances of the accident are still under investigation, but two additional ambulances were dispatched to the scene. One was tasked with attending to the patient from the damaged ambulance, who was in the process of being transferred to the hospital, while the second ambulance was sent to transport the car’s driver for medical checks.
One lane of the road remained blocked, and the accident was cleared at 10.45am.
