
On Tuesday, the police received a call about a robbery at a shop on Luxembourg City's Grand Rue where a man stole two items of clothing, fleeing afterwards. A patrol was able to apprehend the alleged perpetrator shortly thereafter and secure one of the items of clothing. The man had already sold the other item. The police wrote up a report, and the person was also reported to the Directorate of Immigration.
Later that day, another person stole several items from a shopping center on Route de Longwy in Bertrange and fled in their car. The police caught the culprit after a search operation. During a search of the vehicle, more stolen items were discovered. The police also managed to identify an alleged accomplice. A report was drawn up on the orders of the public prosecutor's office.
At around 5.30pm, a man attempted to steal a pair of shoes from a shop on Luxembourg City's Avenue de la Gare. However, a security guard managed to stop the perpetrator in his tracks. The man was later caught and a report was filed.
On Tuesday afternoon, a burglar broke into a Reichlange single-family house. According to the report, some jewelry and a purse were stolen.
Early on Wednesday morning, a cafe was broken into on Clervaux's Grand-Rue. The cash register, a mobile phone, alcohol and a wallet were among the items taken.
On Tuesday evening in Howald, a car window was smashed in on Rue Peternelchen. The car was ransacked, with the culprit making off with a wallet.
In the early hours of Wednesday morning, a truck was broken into in Kleinbettingen, on Rue de Sterpenich. The perpetrator(s) stole work machines. In both cases, investigations are ongoing.
