Residents returning home in Strassen at 7pm raised the alarm after spotting two individuals fleeing their property on Rue de la Liberté. Although several police units responded to the call, the subsequent search for the perpetrators was unsuccessful. An investigation has been launched.
At around the same time, a neighbour spotted a burglar running away from a house in Mondorf-les-Bains. A police investigation has been launched, with a forensics team dispatched to the scene.
Burglars also broke into a house on Rue de Kiem in Luxembourg City at around 10.30pm, smashing a window in order to gain access.
A fourth break-in was reported at midnight on Cité Millewee, Bertrange, after the perpetrators blocked open shutters at the back of the house and forced the windows open. Police were unable to locate the suspects immediately after the incident. Forensics have examined the property as part of an ongoing investigation.
