
Nancy Arendt, president of the Chamber's petition commission, presented the website and highlighted its new features, most notably the introduction of English as a navigating language:
The petition website of the ParliamentThe website has been designed to make the civil engagement tool more inclusive and accessible. Nevertheless, petitions must still be written in one of the country's official administrative languages: Luxembourgish, German, or French.
The platform and all its features are also accessible via smartphone or tablet. On average, one petition is put forward every day. Since the initial launch of the tool, more than 1,500 petitions gathered a sufficient amount of signatures to be discussed in the Chamber of Deputies.
The next debate on a public petition will be held next week, which focuses on privatisation tendencies in the education sector.
