
According to CGFP, the government simply refuses legitimate demands for higher salaries from different fractions, which is why the union has decided to search for legal assistance. Secretary general Steve Heiliger announced that the union already found a lawyer who shares their perspective.
CGFP demands that working from home remains a voluntary option and based on an agreement between employee and supervisor. People working from home should not be burdened any more than those working at the office. Furthermore, they believe that the evaluation system of public service is a waste of time.
Ahead of Prime Minister Bettel’s State of the Nation speech, CGFP officials emphasised the importance of government spending. In terms of taxes, at least minor adjustments have to be made, noted Steve Heiliger.
When it comes to the question of mandatory vaccines for public servants, CGFP is clearly against it. President Romain Wolff noted that there are still a number of unclear matters, such as suspensions or sanctions for those who potentially fail the CovidCheck. The union does not want to accept that a public servant may end up losing their job, president Wolff emphasised.
