The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) has launched a call for applications to reinforce its water rescue operations.

The water rescue team is called into action when a person needs to be saved, or an object recovered from a body of water.

Candidates have to fulfill the following criteria in order to be considered:

  • be 18 years of age
  • know how to swim
  • be or become an active CGDIS member
  • complete a two-year-long training process
  • be available to cover guard duty and participate in rescue operations

The next training cycle will start on 15 March 2022. To participate, candidates first have to complete a selection process, which includes a swimming test and personal interview, both to be held on 14 January next year.
