According to Patrick Muller, vicar general, early years saw a huge amount of people calling but this has since gone down.
A recent report from the bishopric said that in 2020 two people called the helpline. The two men said they were sexually assaulted in the 1960s.
The report further reads that one priest is no longer allowed to practise his faith in public and that he is prohibited from having contact with children. A statement by the bishopric said that the civil lawsuit against him has been settled. There was no mention of who the priest in question is.
According to RTL information, it was the former pastor from Belair, who has been sentenced in court. In 2008, the then 52-year-old sexually abused a 14-year-old boy on a pilgrimage to Taizé (France).
Archbishop Jean-Claude Hollerich ordered that the former pastor must not be allowed any contact with children.
