Dog owners bewareCases of "canine distemper" found in foxes and martens

RTL Today
Dog owers should make sure their dogs don't come into contact with foxes and martens, warns the Ministry of Agriculture.

The veterinary inspection has found a number of cases of canine distemper among dead foxes.

This disease also affects martens and dogs and is transmitted via direct contact.

There is a vaccine against it, but it is recommended to avoid all contact between dogs and wild animals, and to always keep dogs within eyesight when going for walks.

There is no danger to humans, however.
