Disposable e-cigarettes are designed for single use and depleted after 100-500 puffs, depending on the size. In a statement released by Cargolux on Wednesday, the airline points out that the allure of flavoured options, particularly appealing to young people, has raised alarm over increased consumption of these products.

In its statement Cargolux also highlights the environmental impact of disposable e-cigarettes, which often contain non-recyclable lithium batteries.

The decision announced by Cargolux reflects a global trend, as several countries have already imposed bans on the sale and use of vapes within their jurisdictions.
