A car swung off the N25, broke through the crash barrier and slid down a 35-metre slope. It came to a halt after a heavy impact just before reaching the tracks.
According to the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps, two people were hurt in the accident. Fire fighters from Wiltz and Goesdorf were called into action, as well as ambulance teams from Wiltz and Hosingen.
Until the vehicle can be retrieved, a bus service will replace the disrupted train line between Kautenbach and Wiltz.
