The CGDIS has reported a serious road accident that occurred on Thursday evening at approximately 9.28pm on the N22, between Boevange-sur-Attert and Bissen. A motorist lost control of their vehicle, which collided with the trunk of a recently cut-down tree. The impact caused the car to overturn multiple times before finally coming to rest in the bushes along the adjacent cycling lane.
Although the vehicle was declared irreparably damaged, the driver miraculously escaped without serious injury. They were taken to hospital for a precautionary medical check-up. According to police, the driver pledged to arrange for the removal of the vehicle themselves.
A second accident took place shortly after 2pm on Friday, on the N1 between Grevenmacher and Potaschberg, involving a collision between a car and a van.
The fire brigade had to rescue the car’s passengers by cutting open the passenger side of the vehicle. Initial reports indicate that one person was injured. The road was temporarily closed to allow emergency services to intervene, but reopened before 4pm.
