On Thursday morning, the Bascharage bypass will be on the agenda of the joint meeting between the Chamber’s finance and budget commission and the budgetary control commission. An exchange of views is planned with the Minister of Finance and the Minister for Mobility and Public Works on the need to adopt a new law for the development of the project.
In Hosingen, the bypass project is already more advanced.
The symbolic “ground-breaking ceremony” to mark the start of the work will take place on Friday. The first phase of works will be devoted to the construction of a 325-metre-long tunnel. This will be followed by the construction of several bridges before the road itself is built. The estimated cost of the work is around €154 million.
The construction of the Hosingen bypass is part of the project to redevelop the N7 between Weiswampach and Fridhaff. The road will be widened by 5.5 metres on a 31-km-long stretch.
Furthermore, a crash barrier will be installed in the middle and the speed limit will be set at 90 km/h.
