The National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (Statec) recently determined that the inflation rate was going up again. The Union for Consumers therefore demands that people's buying power be safeguarded. Especially low- and mid-income families, as well as retired people are suffering considerably under the inflation increase.
ULC also disapproves of the fact that the CO2 tax will not be taken into account when salaries, treatments, and pensions are being adjusted. The union further notes that the within the past twelve months, the inflation rate rose from 0.5% to 1.9%.
