Two suspects were taken into custody after shoplifting from a shopping centre on Rue Alphonse Weicker on Thursday afternoon. Officers at the scene searched the suspects and found a number of stolen items concealed on their person. Both were arrested by order of the public prosecutor’s office.
In Schifflange, another robbery was reported on Rue du Stade, where the perpetrator rang the victim’s doorbell and began a conversation with them. The thief then convinced the homeowner to allow them access to the house, where they then threatened the victim and demanded money.
The suspect then fled with the money, but was located soon afterwards following a brief search. He was taken into custody by order of the public prosecutor and brought before magistrates on Friday.
