The municipality has therefore proposed to skip the upcoming elections in June entirely, maintaining its current set-up with Annie Nickels-Theis as mayor.
According to the proposal, the rest of the council would remain unchanged. Raymond Junker would stay as first alderman, Jim Leweck would get the post of second alderman, although just for the first three years. He would be replaced for the next three years by councillor Guy Schreurs.
