NatureBirds struggle under rainy summer in Luxembourg

RTL Today
The "Schlammwiss" wetland in Uebersyren is the largest connected reed area in the country.

The area spans over 375 hectares and is a popular spot for migratory birds. The aquatic warbler, for instance, can usually be found at this spot. This breed is endangered and there are only an estimated two to three thousand breeding couples left across Europe.

At the moment, between 70 and 80 types of birds are migrating. Even as early as 1 July, some breeds have begun flocking to the south. Rain and low temperatures have certainly not helped keep them in our region this summer.
