Luxembourg police have issued a public warning, advising against picking up hitchhikers and urging residents to report any suspicious individuals by calling the emergency number 113.
The alert follows reports from Belgian authorities of a suspicious vehicle seen near the Belgian-Luxembourg border at around 2.40pm on Saturday. The vehicle was reportedly fleeing towards Luxembourg.
The Luxembourg police later located the vehicle between Buderscheid and Wiltz, but there has been no sign of its occupants – two men and a woman – who remain at large. Authorities are actively searching for the three suspects.
