At the beginning of the global vaccination campaign against the novel coronavirus, the ultra-low freezers and transportation fridges manufactured by B Medical Systems were high in demand all around the world. Production in Hosingen had to be ramped up and additional personnel recruited. Over the past twelve months, B Medical Systems has generated a revenue of €109 million.
Azenta Life Sciences has now announced an agreement to acquire B Medical Systems for €410 million. An additional €50 million “may be paid upon achievement of certain future performance milestones”, notes a respective press release. The deal is expected to be finalised by October this year.
