A salary increase, more pay on Sundays, gift vouchers and an extra day off for long-serving staff - Auchan Luxembourg signed a new collective agreement on Friday which will “reinforce employees’ purchasing power in a sustainable way,” according to a statement published by the OGBL and LCGB unions.
The key point of the new agreement, which is valid from 2023 to 2025, will ensure that wages are adapted to the most recent rise in minimum wage, and will continue to do so automatically in future.
1,219 staff members will see a monthly salary increase, receiving between 35 and 90 euros more per month. In addition, the supermarket group has agreed to increase salaries by up to 25 euros a month from January 2025.
Employees will now also receive better pay if they work Sunday shifts. The agreement sees Sunday pay increase from 70% to 80%, with the exception of six Sundays a year which will be paid at 220%.
An additional day’s leave will also be granted to employees who have worked there for 25 years or more. The harassment procedure is also set to be reworked.
Finally, all staff will receive an “inflation” gift voucher worth 75 euros “over the coming weeks”.
