Grand Ducal police have had another busy weekend, with multiple incidents reported around the country.

This Saturday, around 11.30pm authorities were called to the scene of an accident on the intersection of Boulevard de la Foire and Avenue de la Faiencerie in Luxembourg City. When the police arrived, the cars had been moved out of the way but those involved were still at the scene.

The police were confronted with a clearly inebriated and agitated woman. She continued to scream and insult the officers and attempted to leave the scene. The woman was then brought to the station. On the way, she continued to insult, spit on and aggravate the police officers. Upon refusing to take an alcohol test, the police confiscated her licence and she had to spend the night in custody.

On Sunday around 3.20am the police were made aware of a car driving suspiciously slowly. Reportedly, it was near the roundabout "Am Daich" in Esch. The driver in question lost his licence due to driving under the influence. The passenger got a fine for letting the other drive while clearly drunk.

In Zessingen, an ambulance was called to the scene of an accident on Route d'Esch at 2.20am. No one was injured but the driver failed an alcohol test and his licence was suspended.

20 minutes earlier, a driver had lost control of his van in Steinfort. The police found a severely damaged car upon arrival. The driver had been injured and helped out of the vehicle. When the police arrived, the driver was already gone and could not be reached. The police are still investigating the incident.

On the Rue Victor Hugo in Esch, a man caused a minor accident around 6 pm. The police had to take away his licence due to his alcohol levels.

And this Saturday around noon, a man was arrested after being spotted in Ingeldorf smoking a joint while driving and speeding.
