The appeal trial began on Wednesday in a Luxembourg City court and involves a double murder case, which dates back to September 2016. A former policeman stands accused of having poisoned his own sister and her husband in their apartment in Bereldange. The defendant was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison.
However, he still denies having intended to kill both victims. He explained that he only tried to make them feel ill as a punishment for not inviting him along on their vacation plans.
On Monday, the second and final day of the appeal trial will take place.
