An unclear image in Tuesday’s art history final exam caused confusion among Luxembourg students in sections F and G, prompting intervention from the Ministry of Education, which has since assured that no students will be penalised for the error.

During the two-hour exam (2.15–4.15pm), students struggled to identify a photograph of a Dessau Meisterhaus – a key element in a question requiring analysis of a Ludwig Mies van der Rohe quote. Due to the image’s small size and poor quality, some mistook it for Utrecht’s Schröder-Haus, a structurally similar building.

The Ministry, alerted at 3.30pm, clarified the image’s content via email to schools at 3.42pm. On Wednesday, it further instructed examiners to grade responses based solely on architectural analysis, regardless of whether students correctly identified the building.
