The Luxembourg Veterinary and Food Administration (ALVA) has issued another recall for "Profutura" powdered milk varieties 1 and 2 by the brand Nutrilon, raising the alert level to orange – indicating a medium danger. The product had previously been pulled from shelves in February.
The recall is due to the potential presence of cereulide, a poisonous substance produced by the microorganism Bacillus cereus.
According to ALVA, non-conforming products that were recalled in February have re-entered the market due to an error in the foreign supply chain.
The alert applies to all of Luxembourg and remains in effect until 27 May 2026.
