Weirich's position on the committee will last until 17 December 2024, after his appointment was decided in the government council meeting last Wednesday.
Other members of the ethics committee, most recently employed to examine the Corinne Cahen conflict of interest case last week, are ex-politicians Colette Flesch and Marie-Josée Jacobs.
