Hospitals in LuxembourgAgreement reached to expand weekend opening hours of MRI scanners

RTL Today
The Federation of Hospitals, Minister of Health Paulette Lenert, and Minister of Social Security Claude Haagen have reached an agreement to extend the opening hours of MRI scanners during weekends.

The aim is to reduce the waiting time for MRI examinations.

To achieve this goal, additional opening hours will be implemented across the four hospitals in Luxembourg, as follows:

Additional opening hours in the four centres

Centre Hospitalier du Nord (CHdN) :
From Saturday 3 June 2023, one machine will be operational on Saturdays from 7am to 3pm.

Centre Hospitalier du Luxembourg (CHL) :
From Saturday 3 June 2023, an extra machine will be available on Saturdays from 8am to 4pm.
It should be noted that two machines have already been operating on Saturdays during the same time slot since April 2023.

Centre Hospitalier Emile Mayrisch (CHEM) :
From Sunday 4 June 2023, one machine will be operational on Sundays from 8am to 4pm.
It should be noted that since May 2023, one machine has already been operational on Saturdays from 8am to 4pm.

Hôpitaux Robert Schuman (HRS) :
From Saturday 3 June 2023, two machines will be available at the Kirchberg site of the HRS on Saturdays from 8am to noon.
It should be noted that since April 2023, one machine has been alternating between the Kirchberg Hospital and the Zithaklinik on Saturdays from 8am to noon. This alternation will therefore cease at the beginning of June, granting the Kirchberg Hospital the capacity to accommodate two MRI machines on Saturdays from 8am to noon.
