
Nevertheless, Luxembourg finds itself in a slightly better position than some of the other countries in the wider region. According to the Chamber's analysis, the Grand Duchy still has the ability to intervene in unforeseen problem areas. Current measures are thus considered to be essential in the effort to maintain Luxembourg's economic level, but only if more profitable times are used to fill up the national reserves again.
However, it is precisely this area where Chamber director Carlo Thelen believes the Grand Duchy to lack in vision. He therefore stated that one should focus on qualitative growth and further progress in the domains of digitalisation and administrative simplification.
While the Chamber of Commerce welcomes future investments, the organisation regrets that in the domain of carbon taxation, no exemption rule will be put in place for businesses. Furthermore, scientific research could be encouraged more significantly through tax reliefs.
