If you’re planning to travel on the A31 near Metz in the evening, be prepared for significant traffic disruptions. The DIR Est (Direction Interdépartementale des Routes Est) has announced that the motorway will be closed for five nights, from Monday, 2 September to Saturday, 7 September, to facilitate works on the sewage system at Moulins-lès-Metz, which has been ongoing for several months.
The closure will affect the Nancy-to-Metz direction, with the A31 shut between junctions 29 (Fey) and 31 (Moulins-lès-Metz) each night from 9pm to 6am. A diversion will be implemented via the Metz-Est bypass, specifically through the N431, A315, and A4, leading up to the Hauconcourt cross.
