Motorists should prepare for significant disruption on the A3 motorway this weekend, as both directions will be closed to traffic to allow for extensive construction works linked to the expansion of the Dudelange–Luxembourg route.
The first closure affects the stretch between the Bettembourg and Gasperich interchanges towards Luxembourg City. This section, along with the on-ramps from the Bettembourg interchange (A13 to A3) and the Livange junction (N31 to A3), will be shut from 8pm on Friday until 4am on Monday.
In the opposite direction, towards Metz, the A3 will also be closed between the Gluck roundabout and the Bettembourg interchange. This second closure runs from 9.30pm on Friday until 4am on Monday and includes several connecting ramps: from the Gasperich interchange (A1 and A6 towards Metz), from Hesperange (CR231 to A3 towards Metz), and from Livange (N31 to A3 towards Metz).
Traffic will be diverted via alternative routes, including the A6, A4, and A13 motorways, with detours signposted through the Bettembourg interchange.
In addition to the motorway closures, the Berchem service area will not be accessible from either direction. Access to the service area will be blocked from around 6.30pm on Friday for the duration of the works.
