This means that the motorway will be closed off in both directions between the Hamm exit and Grunewald junction. Traffic will be diverted between Friday 28 April around 10pm and Tuesday 2 May at 4am, the Bridges and Roads Authority says.

Traffic in the direction of Germany will be diverted to Findel via the Sandweiler roundabout. In the direction of Luxembourg, motorists will be leaving the exit at Senningerberg.

Access to the A1 from Kirchberg in the direction of Gasperich will remain open.

The following barriers will be put in place:

• The A1 motorway in the direction of Trier between the Hamm interchange and the Grunewald junction.
• The A1 motorway towards Gasperich between the Grunewald junction and the Kirchberg interchange.
• The slip road from the Hamm interchange towards Trier.
• The ramp from the A1 in the direction of Trier to the A7 in the direction of Friedhof.
• The ramp from the A7 towards the Grunewald junction towards the A1 in the direction of Gasperich.
• The access ramp from the Kirchberg interchange and towards the A1 in the direction of Trier.
• The access ramp from the Kirchberg interchange and towards the A7 in the direction of Friedhof.

Here is also the list of deviations:

• Traffic from the A1 motorway towards Trier will be diverted from the Hamm interchange via the N2A, N1A, N1 and Senningerberg interchange.
• Traffic coming from the A1 motorway towards Gasperich will be diverted from the Kirchberg interchange via the Serra roundabout and the Kirchberg interchange back onto the A1.
• Traffic coming from the A7 motorway towards the A1 motorway towards Gasperich will be diverted from the Grunewald junction via the Serra roundabout and the Kirchberg interchange.
• Traffic from the Kirchberg interchange towards the Grunewald junction will be diverted from the Kirchberg interchange via the A1 towards Gasperich, the Hamm interchange, the N2A, the N1A, the N1 and the Senningerberg.

The bridge will be 108 metres long, ten metres wide, and eight metres high.
