On Friday, 25 contestants took to the stage to perform in Kirchberg hoping to qualify for the Luxembourg Song Contest (LSC).

Around midday, the first voices began warming up at RTL City, a place usually filled with talk and music, but not usually with so much live music all at once.

The LSC auditions had officially begun, and among the musicians, the atmosphere was a mix of excitement, joy, and raw adrenaline.

Hugo One came out of the audition room with a big smile. “I had three songs to perform; it was a lot of work, but I think I sang well. Now we just have to wait,” he said.

A few meters away, Leonardo Domingues took a deep breath. It was his first time taking part, but the experience left him feeling positive. “The auditions were quite nerve-racking, but the people inside were so kind! There wasn’t a single moment when I didn’t feel good. I just went on stage and told myself: here we go, I’ll do my best.”

It is clear that these auditions were not about stone-cold competition. It was about music, passion, and courage, something also reflected by another hopeful candidate, Madame Yoko: “It was really… how should I put it? It was good. It was so good. Everyone was so kind. I had two songs, and I can honestly say: it went really well!”

Michèle Peschon described her moment with a mix of respect and excitement. “It’s a bit intimidating. It’s not something you experience every day, so yes, you do start to tremble a little.”

Saturday marks the second day of auditions, and by Sunday it will be decided which singers will take the stage in January at the LSC in the Rockhal.
