At the initiative of the Luxembourg League of Political Prisoners and Deportees (LPPD), a new memorial plaque has been unveiled on the Corniche in Luxembourg City.
The plaque serves as a reminder of what can be seen from the city's historic panoramic promenade called the Corniche: the former prison in the Grund district, where nearly 4,000 resistance members were imprisoned during the Nazi occupation in the Second World War.
Eighty years after the end of the war, the aim is to honour those who suffered and to pass on their courage and commitment to future generations.
