A team of Luxembourgish artists have produced five short films ahead of the coronation this weekend, depicting the different stops for the Grand Ducal couple's nationwide tour.

The story is told from the perspective of the palace chauffeur, who will be taking the various famous figures acting as "godparents" to the couple to their individual stations along the tour.

The five films serve to introduce the celebrity "godparents" at each stop on the tour. In total, eight men and women will accompany the new Grand Duke and Grand Duchess on their travels until the tour's grand finale at the Glacis on Saturday evening.

The story also tells of a mysterious gift the godparents want to bestow upon the royal couple at the end of the festivities, though further details cannot be revealed at this stage.

The five films also offer a poetic function, as their specific editing frames them as a retrospective of on the history of Luxembourgish cinema and the people who helped build this sector and champion it on the national and international stage.

Luxembourgish writer and director Max Jacoby directed the five films, while they were produced by Encore Films, a production company belonging to Roxanne Péguet, Jules Waringo, and Tun Biever.

A new short film will be released every day this week at 3pm, starting with the first episode below.
