24 new petitions have been uploaded to the Chamber of Deputies website, covering topics from abortion to a requested bank holiday for the Grand Ducal coronation.

On Thursday, 24 new petitions were added to the Chamber website. Each has 42 days to gather the necessary 5,500 signatures in order to be discussed before the parliamentary petitions committee.

Some of the topics reflect popular stories within the media over recent days: One petition demands a new bank holiday on 3 October to mark the new Grand Duke's accession to the throne, while another calls for a clear no to the right to abortion in the constitution.

Others target healthcare, calling for more comprehensive autism care, or  better reimbursement of treatments and medications for babies, young children and their parents.

As for rights, one demands mandatory breaks for construction workers when temperatures are high outside, and another calls for strengthening fathers' rights in family law.

Some petitions tackle more obscure topics: a New Brazil Day to honour immigrants, a ban on fireworks, more moderation for social media comments on press websites, and another which wants dogs to be given a voice in society and no longer treated as objects.
