More than 63,000 children return to primary school in Luxembourg on Monday, a reminder for drivers to take extra care on the roads as the new term begins.
Figures published by the Ministry of Education last week reveal that this September, 57,800 children will attend a public primary school, while 5,600 will go to a private one. In the public schools, there are 6,520 teachers and teaching assistants, over 80 percent of them being women.
At the same time, there are currently 71,300 places available in childcare facilities such as foyers, crèches, and day-care homes.
Motorists are therefore reminded to take extra care as children make their way to school in the mornings and afternoons.
