A series of thefts across Luxembourg on Saturday prompt police intervention.
On Saturday, police reported several thefts across Luxembourg.
In the afternoon, a man on the train to Bettembourg had his mobile phone stolen while he was not paying attention. Later in the evening, a similar incident occurred at a Kirchberg shopping center, where one perpetrator distracted a woman while another took her phone from her bag.
Two additional bag thefts were reported over the course of the evening: one in the city center and another at the Schueberfouer fair.
At the Berchem rest area, thieves took items and documents from a car through a half-open window, and in Bettembourg, items were also stolen from another vehicle.
In Strassen, a witness reported to the police that he had seen an unknown man stealing from a car. Despite attempts by the car owner and others to detain him, he managed to escape.
Police later located and arrested the suspect on Route d'Arlon. Following orders from the public prosecutor, he appeared before the investigating judge on Sunday.
