Police in Esch arrested a woman on Sunday after a man was stabbed and seriously injured during a fight near a café.

Police were called to Esch at about 6.00 on Sunday following reports of a fight near a café. Officers found a man with two stab wounds to his upper body. He was taken to hospital for treatment, police said.

A woman who was present at the scene was arrested on the order of the public prosecutor and brought before the investigating judge later the same day. An inquiry is under way.
