After a brazen theft during a photo shoot last Thursday, the distinctive glasses of Luxembourg's Wine Queen and her princesses were returned this week following a good-humoured public appeal by the organisers behind Grevenmacher's Grape and Wine Festival.
The Grevenmacher Festival Committee confirmed on Tuesday that the distinctive wine glasses belonging to Luxembourg's Wine Queen and her princesses have been returned, following their theft last Thursday.
The glassware disappeared during a photo shoot for the upcoming Grape and Wine Festival. Organisers announced that the culprit had been photographed in the act, humorously suggesting the thief surely just intended to "give the glasses a proper cleaning". They offered amnesty for their return.
The appeal proved successful when the glasses were anonymously returned to Grevenmacher's town hall on Tuesday – though organisers noted with mild disappointment that they arrived unwashed.
