In an unusual theft, Grevenmacher's wine community is pleading for the return of their Wine Queen's stolen glasses – joking that the thief surely just "wanted to give them a proper cleaning".

The Grevenmacher Wine Festival committee has publicly appealed for the return of stolen wine glasses belonging to Luxembourg's Wine Queen and her princesses after a theft occurred during a Thursday evening photo shoot at the town's "Machera" cultural centre.

In social media posts, organisers revealed they possess photographic evidence of the unidentified individual taking the glassware but have chosen not to publicly share the images. They extended a generous offer: if the glasses are returned to Grevenmacher town hall by Friday, no further action will be taken.

"Surely, they just wanted to give them a proper cleaning at home", organisers quipped in their statement, adopting a light-hearted tone about the incident.
