Nearly three-quarters of Luxembourg's secondary school students passed their final exams this year, according to official data released on Wednesday.
The Ministry of Education released final exam results on Wednesday for 3,688 secondary school students, revealing a 73% overall pass rate – a marginal decrease from 2024's 74%.
Of the participants, 2,705 students passed straight away, while 16% must retake subjects in September and 10% failed outright.
Performance varied significantly between educational tracks. In classical secondary education, 83% of students passed their exams, with 11% required to take supplementary exams and 6% failing outright. The general secondary stream showed different outcomes, with a 66% pass rate, 21% needing supplementary exams, and 13% failing.
Gender disparities emerged across programmes, with female students outperforming males in classical streams (84% vs 81%) but trailing slightly in general education (65% vs 68%).
The ministry also recognised 108 students who achieved "excellent" distinction.
