A French worker died after being struck by a falling paper roll at a Foetz industrial site on Wednesday morning, prompting an investigation by police and labour inspectors.

A 51-year-old worker from France died Wednesday morning in a workplace accident at an industrial site in Foetz, police confirmed.

The fatal incident occurred shortly before 9am when a large paper roll fell on the worker, causing severe injuries.

Despite immediate intervention by emergency services, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The Inspectorate of Labour and Mines (ITM) has joined police forensic teams in investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
