As chaos erupted at Findel airport earlier this month, all mandatory security measures were set in place immediately. However, Findel’s operating company revealed in a press release on Monday that the incident two weeks ago was just one of several linked to a technical defect in the renovated runway.
For lux-Airport, there are legitimate questions about the long-term performance and resilience of the renovated infrastructure.
According to initial analyses, the new runway does not meet the required standards – information that has been shared with the relevant state authorities.
Lux-Airport is currently examining all available options, including legal measures. It must be ensured that operability and safety are guaranteed in the long term, the company said.
