On Tuesday, RTL reported that the National Centre for Functional Rehabilitation (Rehazenter) had suspended rehabilitation services for children due to unresolved legal questions about its mandate.
While some families received notifications about discontinued treatment, the Ministry of Health clarified it had not been informed in advance and that the administrative board had not decided to implement a blanket stoppage.
Ministry officials confirmed no formal decision exists to halt all paediatric admissions, though some Rehazenter physicians reportedly expressed concerns about treating minors without clear legal grounds. The centre’s administrative board will address the matter this week.
All affected children will maintain access to necessary care during the interim period, the ministry emphasised. Officials announced plans to amend relevant legislation to permanently safeguard paediatric rehabilitation services at the facility.
